Style Tip from Belgian Dandy: Jacket Sleeve Length, how much shirt is to be seen ?

As a basic rule: Double-Cuffed shirt sleeves 'must' stick out more than Single-Cuffed shirt sleeves. This is because the sleeves of the Single Cuffed shirt fall on your wristbone, the sleeves of the Double Cuffed shirt however stick out a little bit further than your wristbone, and reach to almost to the beginning of your hand.

So what does this mean ?
Single-Cuffed shirt sleeves, falling on your wristbone, they should show about 1,5 cm. (just a tiny bit more than 0.50 inch)That's the length they should stick out of you jacket sleeve.
Double-Cuffed sleeves are allowed a little bit more: think about approximately 2 cm's (that's 0,80 in inches)
However....: There is a current trend in showing more shirt. Not meaning your shirt sleeves are getting longer, but that jacket sleeves are getting shorter. This is however a personal expression of taste. I think it is following the trend of shorter pants. When you're wearing beautiful, even exeptional shoes, some men started wearig their pants shorter, as to show more of the shoes. Which I can understand and respect. Even I wear shorter pants, just to show-off the shoes, and show some bright socks as well in the meantime ! ;-) So when wearing a double-cuffed quality shirt, combined with some exeptional cuff-links, why not show them off ?
